EVENT INFO
The 5K
Event-day InformationDay of race registrations - yes, we can do day-of-race registrations. Complete a paper registration at the event. Present the registration paper at the registration table with a check, and you will be signed in.Packet pickup - Bibs and Chips - these will be available in the race packets. Chip-timing - the race is chip-timed. The 5K can be competitive for some. That is why the chips are important. You will be given a bib with a chip already attached. Wear the bib on the front of your chest, not on your back, pants, legs, or arms. Pick up 4 safety pins at the registration desk to attach the bib. All 5K participants will be chip-timed. The chip will be on your bib when you pick up your packet. If you have never been chip-timed, this will be an experience for you. The chip is read by an RFID antenna, no mats on the ground. Place your chip properly, and most likely, it will be read with 100% accuracy. Take the chip and bib home with you.Alcohol - this event is a no-alcohol eventParking - the park has more than enough parking spaces.Restrooms - Hillsboro Stadium has restrooms available.Strollers - Absolutely. The faster strollers should line up in the front of the Starting Line. Those who have slower strollers, let's have you line up towards the rear of the pack. This way, you will have the right of way.Water - The event will have plenty of water for participants. You may wish to bring a full water bottle for yourself and spectators.Animals - No pets at the event or in the park. Results - The results of the races will be posted on monitors at the timer's desk, and in paper form on the results board. Results will be posted on the website during the race.Timing desk - The timers will be busy before and during the races. Please talk with timers only when it looks like they are not busy.Safety - Everyone needs to help with safety at the event. Please watch for unsafe items on the running course - a rock, a branch, slick spots. Tell an event coordinator, and we will have it removed. Watch for others, put others safety first. Be courteous. Let faster runners go by you. Help others in need. Watch for the safety of the children. Parents - watch your kids - do not let them get out of your site.
